With just over three weeks to go until the opening night of Gloucester Cathedral’s brand new cycle of Mystery Plays, tickets are selling fast, with all three performances looking set to be sold out.
There are 13 plays in the first cycle, from November 27 to 29 at 7.30pm, split between five directors. The 60 actors and crew are drawn from all over Gloucestershire.
Set designers have created a model of the stage with access to Heaven and the pit of Hell. Meanwhile, the special effects team is working out how to recreate the Big Bang.
The second cycle of plays covering the Life of Christ to the Last Judgement will take place in March and April 2013.
Tickets for the Mystery Plays at Gloucester Cathedral are available from Gloucester Guildhall on 01452 503050 and Gloucester Tourist Information Centre on 01452 396572. Tickets are £12 and £10 for children under 16.
