  • "Oh Yes we must follow our politicians guidance and go on line which allows Scammers, theives into our lives without any control. I.T can be very good but also very dangerous unless extreme caution / control is applied. To even suggest that all Older people must now use this technology, would be easier if choice were still available. But departments after departments are going over to services that have to be applied for or administered by / over the internet. And ulike a document or interview / appointment which can be safely brought to an end by our own choice and timing, the process of leaving a site or shutting down has to be very exacting, if not some internet marauder is just waiting for us to slip up, and in they come. This example at the Alexander Hospital just shows how vulnerable we have become. Imagine the panic if you were in a large & Busy supermarket and there was an IT crash. The world stops, since nobody can add up, take any money, no credit card facility, and worst of all Safety could well be challenged. WE may have gone forwards in some eyes but HAVE WE REALLY? With our hospitals they have to have a back up system in a drawer or cabinet, it's called PEN & PAPER."
