A TEWKESBURY council-lor is hoping to get an open space declared a village green.
Coun Barbara Cromwell says that the section of Breakingstone Meadow, off the Mythe Road, has been used for public events for years, so fulfilling criteria for a village green.
"It belongs to the council, so surely that means the people of Tewkesbury,""she said.
The site was used for several years in the 1970s for Joe Western Webb's spectaculars, which included motorcycle and car displays and jumping motorcycles across the nearby river.
It was also used in the 1980s, when Tewkesbury Traders Group revived the hose ball competition.
In order to get it declared a village green, Mrs Cromwell must show it has been used for public recreation regularly over the past 20 years.
Anyone with information about the site should contact her on 01684 299738.
