TWO controversial planning applications have been refused by Tewkesbury Borough Council planners.
The first is a scheme by O2 (UK) Ltd for a 20m mobile phone mast at Twyning. Local member Coun Gordon Shurmer said there had been 324 letters of objection from a village of only 600 houses.
Also rejected was an plan by Aldi for a 1,460sqm store on the former Warner's Garage site on the Gloucester Road.
A 168-signature petition and 14 letters had cited the effect the store would have on residents of Tewkesbury Park. A further petition against was signed by 38 town centre businesses.
