A new bus service will soon link the Wheatpieces Estate in Tewkesbury directly with Cheltenham.
The estate is currently served by the hourly 71 service linking Tewkesbury and Gloucester and the infrequent 43 service between Tewkesbury and Bishop's Cleeve.
Residents wanting to travel to Cheltenham have to either go into the town centre or to a bus stop on the Gloucester Road.
The new service will start in April and be run by Stagecoach (West) and is being funded initially by a contribution from Bloor Homes, the developers of the estate.
The timetable has not yet been finalised but is being described as frequent.
