New deputy mayor elect

A last-minute nomination pushed former town mayor from the seat of deputy mayor elect.
Town and borough councillor Brian Calway was the only councillor nominated for the role, but at last week's full council meeting Liberal Democrat councillor Cait Cluclas, was nominated and voted into the role.
If re-elected she will take over from Coun Phillip Awford at the annual meeting of the council, which will be held after the elections in May.
Coun Awford will then become borough mayor - subject to him being re-elected.
