A PROCLAMATION praising the people of Tewkesbury for their community spirit and hard work during the summer's floods has been warmly received.
It was made on behalf of Tewkesbury Town Mayor, Ken Powell and the town council, by Town Crier Mike Kean-Price, speaking from the Town Hall steps.
He said: "A lot of people waited to listen to what I had to say, and ten or 11 of them asked to read it.
"It was a lovely idea - it was for all the people in the town, and was not the council saying look what we have done', but look what you have done'."
