ADVERTSISING boards outside shops and business premises are a nuisance and should be regulated, according to town councillor Chuck Pavey.
He told this week's meeting of the town council that he is receiving a growing number of complaints about the number of obstructions on the town's pavements, and said that there is nothing they can do about it because the town does not have a policy.
He suggested that the council adopts such a policy, regulating the size and positioning of A boards.
Town Clerk, Mike Wilson told the meeting that as a parish council they do not have the power to implement one, but can do so as the agent of the county council.
The matter has been referred to the planning committee to be drawn up The county council officer responsible for the matter will be coming to Tewkesbury to discuss the matter.
