A FORMER chief inspector of police is expected to be the next borough mayor.
Town and Borough Councillor Brian Calway is already deputy mayor, and the usual practice is for current deputy mayor to become mayor the following year.
Councillors will vote for a new deputy mayor at their meeting on Thursday.
Coun Calway is expected to take over the chain of office from Coun Philip Awford in May.
The council will also decide who will be their representative at a royal garden party in July.
