Training centre plans submitted

A PLANNING application for a new vocational training centre for 14 to 19-year-olds has been submitted to Tewkesbury Borough Council.
Gloucestershire Launchpad, a partnership between Tewkesbury School, Cleeve School, and Gloucestershire College, want to build the new centre on the Tewkesbury Business Park, opposite Tewkesbury School.
They hope to open to the first 200 students in September 2009.
They will be working towards a new Government diploma and will be able to study construction, engineering, hairdressing, IT and music, with further courses being added later.
The application will go before the planning committee at its March or April meeting.
