A NEW car will help the Tewkesbury Safer Communities reach rural parts of the community.
The Mitsubishi Colt, loaned to the team by Mitsubishi, Cirencester, will be used to take Police Community Support Officers to the outlying villages and rural areas they could not otherwise reach.
Once there they can patrol on foot and get to know the residents.
PC Phil Groom said: "Owing to the size of our neighbourhoods we sometimes find it difficult to visit some of our distant communities.
"Our aim is to allow our Safer Community Team to access as much and as many of the local community as possible, and this is the ideal vehicle to allow them to do that."
