A BREDON shop owner is helping local residents to help others by recycling their unwanted shoes.
Barry Young of Queensmead Stores has allowed a shoe collection point to be set up in the store.
The footwear is sold on to third world countries where it is refurbished and resold at prices local people can afford.
The scheme not only supplies much needed footwear, it also allows a means of earning a living in places where such opportunities are rare.
The sale of the shoes to the third world cobblers also raises money for the Variety Club of Great Britain's Children's charity, and helps preserve the environment by cutting down on the number of shoes going to land fill.
The collection bin at Queensmead Stores is already half full with shoes of all kinds.
