Cotswold craftmen's show comes to Bishops Cleeve

THE Cotswold Craftsmen's Christmas Show comes to the Tithe Barn at Bishops Cleeve, near Cheltenham, this weekend.

The Cotswold Craftsmen's Christmas Show is established as a traditional shopping venue which is full of old-world charm and away from the bustle and bling of the High Street shopping centres.

The market offers a return to the quiet traditions of being able to admire individually created pieces and the chance to chat to the designers personally to discuss special gifts or commissions.

Sixteen craftsmen will be at the show including designer jewellers, woodworkers, mosaic artists, expert stone carvers, specialist designer glassware, ceramics artists and a photographer.

Yvonne Halton will be new to the show this year with the quirky colourful ceramics she hand-builds using earthstone clay which she rolls and textures before decorating them.

Pam Harmer, from Nailsworth, is also new to the show.

Trained as a painter, she took up stone carving 25 years ago and has a wide skill base for her ideas which are fulfilled in stone and slate.

Designer jeweller Hazel Morris will be showing off her Anglo-Saxon inspired jewellery along with mosaic specialist and artist, Katrine Elliot.

There's also a chance to sample the work of award-winning calligrapher and botanical artist, Valerie Dugan, whose clients include the Royal family and the singer Diana Ross.

THE Cotswold Craftsmen's Christmas Show opens from 10am until 5pm.

Admission is free with free car parking adjacent to the Tithe Barn in the centre of Bishop's Cleeve.
