THE Royal Gloucestershire Berkshire and Wiltshire Light Infantry will parade their final Right of Freedom before they become The Rifles on a march through Tewkesbury on Sunday.
The parade is one of a series of parades taking place during this month. The RGBW received the Freedom of the Borough on February 15, 2000 in the presence of HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh when they last exercised their freedom rights.
The parade will assemble in the Vineyards Road car park at 2.30pm before proceeding along Church Street, Barton Street and Oldbury Road into Sun Street and returning down Church Street.
The inspection and salute will take place outside the Abbey Gates, by the Bell Hotel, in the presence of borough mayor, Councillor Mike Sztymiak and the town mayor, Councillor Peter Aldridge.
The parade will finish at the council offices. The two mayors and the regiment are hoping to see many residents turn out in support.
The council believe there will be some disruption to traffic until 3.30pm.
