Angela Presdee has spent years testing herself and now the GFirst worker will take on her most difficult challenge yet by taking on the Three Peaks Challenge and her boss.
The Investment Manager at GFirst, which drives Gloucestershire’s Local Enterprise Partnership, has set herself the challenge of beating the time set by her Chief Executive David Owen, after he successfully scaled the three mountains in under 24 hours last year.
The 47-year-old from Quedgeley said: “I have taken on a number of challenges to raise funds for worthy local charity causes, such as the Land’s End to John O’Groats cycle challenge, the London Marathon and Tough Guy and I am determined to tackle this one and make sure I beat David’s time.”
David Owen said: “I know from personal experience just how tough this challenge is and I hope Angela will complete it in a good time, while raising lots of money for charity.”
Angela is aiming to complete the challenge, which involves scaling Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in the lakes and Snowdon in Wales, on May 17 and 18 with friends Jackie Ashman and Rachel Hyett from the DW Fitness gym in Gloucester.
They are raising funds to support Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund, in memory of Jackie’s mum who had suffered from the cancer, and sadly passed away last year.
Angela added: “We just want to raise as much money as possible to help this worthy cause. My work colleagues have already put their hands in their pockets to give me some extra motivation and The French Car Centre has kindly donated one of its people carriers for us, which will help get us from place to place. Hopefully this generosity will spur me on so I can complete the challenge in under 24 hours.”
Tony Hughes, one of the directors at The French Car Centre, based in Kingsditch Lane, Cheltenham, which specialises in selling, servicing and repairing French cars, said the company was happy to help Angela on her challenge.
He said: “The French Car Centre was pleased to be able to help Angela in her challenge by lending her a people carrier for the day. We wish her and her friends the best of luck.”
The team have set up a just giving page for any donations, for those of you who would like to support their efforts in raising funds for this worthy cause visit http://www.justgiving.com/3Peaks-JAR
