MORE than fifty cyclists will arrive in Cheltenham this Friday as they ride from London to Wales to raise money for Maggie’s.
The cyclists will set off from the Maggie’s Centre on the grounds of Charing Cross Hospital in West London on Thursday, June 14, and finish at St David’s Head in Wales on Sunday, June 17.
With 300 miles to cover the route will take the intrepid cyclists through some of the most beautiful landscapes in the UK with a stop off at the Maggie’s Centre in Cheltenham.
Joining them en route will be a group taking part in the One Day Challenge cycling from Oxford to Cheltenham. Both the London to Wales and One Day Challenge are organised by the Quintessentially Foundation. Each year the Foundation chooses up to four charities to support, and Maggie’s is one of this year’s beneficiary charities.
Due to arrive at Maggie’s Cheltenham from 2pm onwards the riders will be treated to a well earned cuppa and homemade cakes followed by the opportunity to relieve aching muscles in a gentle yoga session provided by a local Yoga teacher.
Jane Fide, Centre Head at Maggie’s Cheltenham, said: “We would like to thank all those taking part for braving the elements and supporting Maggie’s. Our thanks also go out to the Quintessentially Foundation for all their hard work in organising this event.”
