National Civic Day to celebrate where we live

TEWKESBURY will be staging a series of events to join in England’s second Civic Day on Saturday, June 23.

From 11am at the Rugby Club there will be a number of attractions including miniature train rides, face painting, Boys Brigade barbecue and more.

At the Watson Hall from 11am there will be a ‘past and present’ exhibition where there will be old photos, film and souvenirs to reminisce over. Dig out your own if you still have them! There will also be a promotion of various local groups.

The Town Museum will be open and Guided Walks will be on offer. Victoria Gardens will be holding their Open Day from noon on Sunday, June 24.

As part of the annual Civic Day 2012 celebrations a national “civic pride survey known as Civicwatch will be asking people how proud they are of where they live.
