Make the town bloomin' marvellous

Would you like to help Tewkesbury bloom next summer?

The Tewkesbury in Bloom group is holding an open meeting on Tuesday, October 24, at the town hall from 6.30pm. They are asking people to go along with ideas and support.

The town did not enter the Heart of England in Bloom competition last year because of lack of funding combined with the borough council's decision not to plant the flowerbeds in the town as a cost cutting exercise.

However, the group has spent the year fundraising but do not yet know if they will be able to enter the 2007 competition.

But members of the Tewkesbury North resident's association are doing their bit to make the town as colourful as possible.

They will be out on Sunday , October 22 clearing and planting the flowerbeds by the Black Bear junction and Bredon Road. Meanwhile Newtown residents are caring for the flowerbeds in Ashchurch Road.
