County Motorway reopened
2:54pm Friday 6th July 2012 in News By Sarah Taylor
The westbound M50
UPDATE 18.02pm THE M50 has reopened after rain forced the road to close for around three hours.
The road was closed after a foot of water made conditions too dangerous.
There were still delays on the road after it reopened at 5.15pm of around ten minutes.
UPDATE 3.35pm: THE M50 has been closed in both directions after today's heavy rain.
Currently the motorway is closed between Strensham services on the M5 and junction two on the M50 westbound and from junction two to junction one on the eastbound carriageway.
The Highways Agency said the road, which closed just after 2pm, is unlikely to be open before 6pm and advised drivers to check traffic updates and take care on the roads.
Diversions are in place.
THE M50 westbound has been closed after today's downpour.
Flooding has caused the road to be shut between junction eight of the M5 and junction one with the A38 at Tewkesbury.
Traffic was diverted from around 2pm.
