Evesham Regatta

First published in News

EVESHAM Rowing Club will be hoping to benefit from Olympic fever as well as some better weather, when its rescheduled regatta takes place next month.

The club has announced that the event, which was cancelled in May after heavy rainfall made the river unsafe, will be held on September 15.

The success of British rowers at the Olympics has attracted more young people to the sport and the club hopes that the feelgood factor surrounding rowing will mean this year’s event will be the best yet.

Former Evesham Rowing Club members Alex Gregory, who won a Gold medal at the games, and silver medallist Zac Purchase, have both been invited to attend.
