Tewkesbury plays part in new economic strategy

Tewkesbury council is helping put together a new economic strategy for Gloucestershire.

The county’s Local Enterprise Partnership will be developing a growth strategy to forecast the future development need for the area.

Tewkesbury Borough, Cheltenham Borough and Gloucester City councils are putting together a Joint Core Strategy (JCS) to look at land suitable for future development over the next 20 years.

Gloucestershire LEP has been asked by the councils to look at the area’s economic potential and forecast its future growth need, which will be used as an evidence base for the JCS document.

It is hoped a final document will be finished by August 2014.
