Angelic voices at Cathedral

On Saturday music lovers will flock to Gloucester Cathedral to enjoy both a morning Coffee Concert and afternoon Organ Recital.
At 11am the angelic voices of the Nidus Children’s Choir from Cwmbran, Wales, will perform a programme of music ranging from John Rutter’s “Tomorrow Shall be my Dancing Day” to Simon and Garfunkle’s “Bridge over Troubled Water”. Coffee Concerts are popular and last approximately 60 minutes. Tickets are £6 on the door and refreshments are included. Proceeds support the work of Gloucester Cathedral Choir.
Following on at 5.30pm James Vivian, Organist and Director of Music at The Temple Church, London will perform the last Saturday Organ Concert in the 2012 Series. Projected live onto a large screen in the Nave, he will showcase a magnificent programme of music by Reger, Howells, Purcell, Bach and Dupré.
The performance will be projected into the Nave via a large screen. Admission is free with a retiring collection in aid of Cathedral Music.
