1:03pm Friday 10th October 2014

THE changes made to local policing since the inception of police commissioners is concerning.

Help me trace the Panter family

12:21pm Tuesday 14th October 2014

RECENTLY in the Journal there was an article called Why does Pershore keep celebrating the wrong plum?

Why can't they stop use going 'Bump' over manhole covers?

12:59pm Monday 13th October 2014

WHY, oh why, can the Highways Department never finish the job?

Does anyone have my 1970s coat?

What's going on, on our pavements?

Tewkesbury Admag: (10156169)

9:32am Monday 13th October 2014

IS it just me, or are the pavements in High Street, Evesham, more congested than the roads? If I'm not dodging mobility scooters I'm being run down by cyclists. What's going on? When I was a child, if I had cycled on the path a not-so-friendly policeman would have given me a right dressing down and put the fear of God into me.

Thanks for helping me when I fell

5:16pm Friday 10th October 2014

MAY I take this opportunity to thank all the very kind people in Evesham who helped me after a very bad fall on the corner at the end of the Workman Bridge, especially the gentleman and young lady who telephoned for the paramedics and who stayed with me while we waited all the time until the car arrived.

Reply to my hospital food letter was inpertinent

12:59pm Friday 10th October 2014

THE purpose of my letter (October 2) regarding the appalling cuisine during my stay at the Alexandra Hospital was to bring awareness to the authorities so they can investigate and improve the menu for others.

11:41am Monday 6th October 2014

IN response to Douglas Wathan's letter of October 10, I spent four weeks in the Queen Elizabeth hospital in Birmingham just before Christmas undergoing a kidney transplant (incidentally a gift from a very dear friend).

Fishing for swans. Disgusting!

3:43pm Friday 3rd October 2014

Yet more anti-social behaviour in Evesham. This time definitely illegal.

Why are the police in Bath able to move drunks away, but drunks in Evesham can pester who they like?

3:37pm Friday 3rd October 2014

THESE people are intimidating. They don't sit and drink quietly but are loud and milling about.

The view of Abbey Bridge isn't so rosy close up

2:55pm Friday 3rd October 2014

IT'S a pity the view of the new bridge in Abbey Road isn't as rosy when walking as it seems to be while travelling by car.

MY partner and I awoke to find that we had suffered the indignity last weekend of having been burgled whilst we slept.

So difficult for doctors to make the right diagnosis

12:10pm Tuesday 30th September 2014

I WORK as a secretary to GPs, and know from the numerous referral letters I type, just how difficult it can sometimes be to make the right diagnosis with patients not always having the right set of symptoms for the illness they have.

Thanks for raising £1,350 for Macmillan

Tewkesbury Admag: Abbey Bridge complete by Martin Billings (10802645)

11:38am Friday 26th September 2014

ANDREW Dyke wrote that he’s been away from Evesham for a few weeks. I can only assume he’d been to Mars after he penned his letter regarding the bridge works.

Where's the appreciation from Evesham's politicians?

10:54am Tuesday 23rd September 2014

YOU report in your September 11 issue the good news that Stagecoach has begun a Sunday service on their route 28 with five Evesham-Stratford return journeys, two of them being extended to Pershore. It replaces the axed 166 service, run by Diamond most recently.

Don't be too hard on our tower-based cycle race commentator

12:43pm Monday 22nd September 2014

IN response to the letter from Alan Heeks (Journal, September 18) regarding the commentary on the Tour of Britain, I would like to defend the gentleman in the tower commentating on the race on his own.

Too many homes for Harvington

Tewkesbury Admag: (10156169)

12:35pm Monday 22nd September 2014

I attended the Harvington planned meeting that was held in our village hall last week. This meeting was very well attended. My opinion regarding the building of some 278 houses in the village is one of very considerable doubt.

At least you can get across the street in Pershore!

12:19pm Monday 22nd September 2014

I HAVE some sympathy with those who wrote to the Journal about speeding through Pershore High Street.

My shock at seeing the hunt

12:14pm Monday 22nd September 2014

Why didn't we get some commentary from a cycling expert?

12:05pm Monday 22nd September 2014

AS somebody who does not follow cycling in a great way, I thought it would be a great opportunity to enlighten my ignorance of the sport by watching the Tour of Britain go through Evesham.

Too late to complain about out-of-town shopping now

11:42am Monday 22nd September 2014

CONSIDERING we are already 30 years into a programme of reducing the town centre to a secondary shopping area through the retail developments at Four Pools, Twyford and Worcester Road, isn’t it a bit late for councillors to have concerns about further destruction of the town?

We deserve better than this

Tewkesbury Admag: (10156169)

12:15pm Friday 19th September 2014

A FEW weeks ago you published a letter from Richard Thomson, in which he decried the state of the pavements in the centre of Evesham, especially in the area of the Allee de Dreux. Mr Thomson called on the county council, as the responsible authority, to use some of the money paid by Hotchief as penalty for the delay in finishing the Abbey Road Bridge to make good the aforesaid pavements. His letter was met with a thundering silence by the county council, despite the fact that the cabinet member responsible for these matters is a local councillor.

If there are no shops in Evesham why would coaches come here?

10:57am Friday 19th September 2014

Wanton slaughter of wildlife is not being done out of any love of cows

10:49am Friday 19th September 2014

DOMINIC Dyer of the Badger Trust and Care for the Wild is correct when he states that culling badgers is "ill-conceived" and "will contribute nothing to reducing bovine TB in cattle" (Journal, September 11).

Evesham needs free parking

10:47am Friday 19th September 2014

Ignore hype when moving schools

4:31pm Tuesday 16th September 2014

REGARDING moving from primary to secondary school, as someone with 26 years' teaching experience, my advice would be to ignore hype and advertising such as "Number one choice for families across the North Cotswolds, South Warwickshire and Worcestershire".

So unfair to target scrapyard business

4:00pm Tuesday 16th September 2014

WHAT a shame that Cotswold district councillors could not extend outside their "jobsworth" attitude and layers of obviously important red tape and try to assist the owners of the scrapyard on the A429 Moreton-Stratford road to regularise the business opportunity, instead of seeking to shut down a fledgling business enterprise (Journal, August 28).

I've lost count of number of times I've been overtaken in Bridge Street, Pershore

3:48pm Tuesday 16th September 2014

HAVING read your article concerning speeding on Bridge Street in Pershore, highlighted by John Andrews (Journal, August 28), I decided to contact you to support both his claims and concerns.
