Water Fuel idea

11:30am Thursday 2nd September 2010

With the development of a turbo diesel running on chocolate waste and stale wine at Warwick University, as recently reported, it is only a matter of time before they progress to using water as fuel for this engine.

Generous support

11:31am Thursday 2nd September 2010

I would like to thank everyone in Gloucestershire and Worcestershire for their generous support of Marie Curie Cancer Care’s Blooming Great Tea Party celebrations this summer.

Thank you readers

11:32am Thursday 2nd September 2010

Would you allow me to thank the wonderful people of the Vale for supporting my recently published book Produce from Asum.

Too much signage in our town centre

11:27am Thursday 2nd September 2010

RECENTLY, while on my way to the High Street Post Office in Evesham, I was struck by the excessive amount of “vertical metal clutter”, consisting of lamp posts, traffic signals and signposts displaying just one sign per post, many of which are very close together.

Students’ fair deal

11:27am Thursday 2nd September 2010

Recently we have had news informing us of record A-level results around the country. Great, and well done to all those candidates. The downside is that there is a shortage of university places for these students by many thousands. One of the reports stated that Exeter University had no places available, and this was on the day that the A-level results came out. Considering that Exeter must have had students complete courses and graduate, one wonders what has happened to all their vacated places.

We are on a roll!

11:29am Thursday 2nd September 2010

Well we have had a busier week this week. On Tuesday, Pat and I attended Hampton Ferry for the launch of Evesham’s first Community mini-bus which has been christened Topsy. This name came about because the previous owner’s name was Mrs Turvey.

Use this service

7:50am Thursday 19th August 2010

I was glad to see the no28 bus, Evesham - Stratford, have some publicity in the High Street recently. This is an excellent service and I cannot understand why more people do not use it. Do people realise that there is a bus every half hour for most of the day and that you can even go to an performance at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and still get back to Evesham by bus? It has been a godsend to me and I would hate to lose it, so please everybody, use it.

Having patience

7:40am Thursday 19th August 2010

As an ex “city girl”, I never fail to appreciate how beautiful this locality is and feel very lucky to live in such a tranquil area.

We owe the few

7:30am Thursday 19th August 2010

On Tuesday I visited Mrs Hall a registered blind lady living in Evesham. The purpose of the visit was the official hand-over of her guide dog Lynn.
