Cut the paper waste. All councils are facing cuts as a result of the credit crunch and we know that many of their efforts are unpopular with the general public but I bet there is one area that would get the wholehearted support of the people in this area.

That is to cut back on all the fancy expensive brochures, pamphlets, leaflets and other literature from various council departments that land on our doorsteps weekly. Not only would this save trees, it would greatly reduce our need to recycle. So save the likes of the CAB, the forests and save money at the same time.
