Round-up
Mayor's cash for charity
OUTGOING borough mayor, Phil Awford raised £12,000 for charity during his year in office.
He told Monday night's Mayor Making ceremony in Tewkesbury Abbey, that this was less than he might have hoped, but that last year's huge flood appeal had taken up a great deal of the money that might otherwise have been donated to his fund.
The money will be shared between Living Independently in Gloucestershire, the Orthopaedic ward at Cheltenham General Hospital and The Tewkesbury Abbey Appeal.
