Hundreds of people showed their support for skills at the county’s biggest apprenticeship and careers event, Gloucestershire Skillsfest 2013.

The day-long event at Gloucester Rugby Club saw youngsters and businesspeople discussing skills training and career options.

More than 60 businesses were exhibiting on the day and dozens more were on-hand to give career advice and a taste of different jobs.

Visitors got the chance to try "have a go" activities, in fields from bricklaying to beauty therapy, and hear from Gloucester MP Richard Graham, Terry Chappell from the National Apprenticeship Service, and apprentice Will Hunter.

There was also a range of advice and guidance workshops for schools, a chance to meet the apprentice and Q & A session for parents and carers.

The campaign is run by GFirst, which drives Gloucestershire Local Enterprise Partnership, in association with Gloucestershire College, South Gloucestershire and Stroud College, EDF Energy, Delphi and Gloucestershire Engineering Training Group.
