12:01pm Monday 28th April 2014 in Tewkesbury
THE annual French motoring festival ‘La Vie en Bleu’ (Life in Blue) is making a welcome return to the Cotswolds.
This year's event at the Prescott Hill Climb, near Winchcombe, takes places on Saturday, May 24 and Sunday, May 25 and sees many of its regular competitors plus some surprises.
These include Amilcars, Voisins and a regular London to Brighton entrant - a Panhard Levassor with a four cylinder engine and tonneau body.
Popular driver Richard Scaldwell will be plying his 1919 wood GN cycle car chassis and ET Willows 1908, 5112cc/3111 cui JAP V8 up the climb hoping to ‘shave’ off some time.
Visitors can also look forward to some French-themed entertainment including can-can dancers, live music, a Parisienne 1920’s Renault bus, stilt walkers and an accordion player.
There will also be a French style shopping village with food, art and French berets along with food and drink which will be French influenced with crepes and plat du jour.
Bugatti gravity racers will be on display along with a wide variety of car clubs in the Orchard.
