Gloucestershire band Thrill Collins, described as ‘one of the best live bands in the county” by BBC Introducing, has joined the final line up of up and coming musicians and bands to play at the Cotswold Show’s first Festival of Music on 30th June and 1st July. BBC Introducing is working alongside the Cotswold Show to bring a ‘weekend of sound’ to the Show’s 45,000 visitors for the first time.

Thrill Collins will be joined by other well known local artists including as Harbour, Welcome to Marathon, Ben Maggs, George Montague and Funky Horse Milk.

“We wanted to bring something new to the Show this year,” said Show Director Claudia Wilson. “We felt that a Music Festival would really appeal to our visitors, and open to doors to an age group who might normally give the Show a miss, thinking it’s not for them.”

The Cotswold Show aims to appeal to a wide range of ages with main arena events, including the biggest Monster Trucks in Europe, Blazing Saddles, a horse riding stunt team and Racing Terriers jumping through Rings of Fire! There’s more than 200 trade stalls, craft stalls, a food village, living working countryside area, national gundog competition, loads of ‘have a go’ country pursuits and a Cookery Theatre with Rob Rees, The Cotswold Chef™ performing demonstrations on both days. Alongside all this, there are live demonstrations of traditional country crafts, a Countryside Ring with coarse fishing, gundog handling, shotgun safety and rare breeds as well as archery, laser shooting, a horse whisperer, ferret racing and more than 200 trade stalls. There’s also plenty for children to do with water fun from Water Buoyz, a traditional family funfair, children’s quads, a circus workshop, cricket factory and free collage making in the Children’s Craft Corner.
