BRETFORTON remain top of the West Clubs Women’s Hockey League North Division after beating a tricky BAC side 5-2.

The hosts went behind in a thrilling first-half but Julie Hall responded quickly, latching onto a Sarah Hall pass to slot home.

Julie Hall put Bret ahead moments later with a committed diving effort at the far post and striker Deb Slatter smashed their third home before BAC replied with a superb short-corner effort.

Strong defending by Kate Mitchell and Daisy Wheeler kept BAC frustrated, however, and keeper Vicky Watkins pulled off a few vital saves.

Bret increased the lead from a penalty corner with Hayley Whitehouse dispatching a clinical strike.

They commanded the second- half with Lisa Workman bossing midfield and Sarah Hall completing the scoring from a ball by Sarah Cook.
