BOURTON Roadrunners’ juniors were out in force in the Gloucestershire Crosscountry League opener at Cotswold Farm Park.

Josephine Mutsaars finished second in the competitive under 11s girls field in six minutes three seconds.

OTHER BOURTON RESULTS: Kate Edgerton was seventh in 6.25, Molly Hughes 10th in 6.31, Isabel Kiey Thomas 12th in 6.35, Helena West 15th in 6.44, first-timer Ellie Edgerton 19th in 7.02, Emily Williams 30th in 7.24, Laura Hemming 32nd in 7.24, Libby Herbert 33rd in 7.28 and Isobel Nevins 36th in 7.46.

After a fast start, Dylan Williams just lost touch in the last 100 metres to finish fifth in the under 11s boys in 5.38.

Max Pinkham was 11th in 5.58, Charlie Davidson 16th in 6.05, Elliot England 22nd in 6.13, Henry Bell 23rd in 6.14, Jack Lainton 29th in 6.29, John Nevins 35th in 6.37 and Daniel Bufton 42nd in 6.47. The boys are fourth and eighth in the league.

Rosanna Mutsaars pulled away well to take a welldeserved victory for the under 13s girls in 11.42.

Felicity Darwents, stepping up from dominating the under 11s age group, impressed with second spot in 11.51 and the girls are also second in the league.

Darwents was followed by Gaby Jones, who was 19th in 13.29, Beth Boydell (22nd in 13.40) and Isobel Hartley (23rd in 13.42).

In the under 13s boys, Marcus Kiey Thomas was 48th in 14.45.

The tough under 15s category saw Alfie Howells- Smith finish 14th in 19.42 and Joseph Salf 20th in 21.52.
