ALBERTAS Run will not defend his crown in Saturday’s Betfred Monet’s Garden Old Roan Chase at Aintree.

Temple Guiting-based Jonjo O’Neill’s three-time Cheltenham Festival scorer ran out a determined winner of the Grade Two handicap 12 months ago and returned from a long lay-off to finish an excellent second in the Ryanair Chase.
