PERSHORE crashed to their first ENER-G West Midlands Hockey League Division Two defeat of the season in a 12- goal thriller at Ludlow.
The visitors lost 7-5 after being 5-2 behind at the interval following goals from Anthony Handley and Ed Deacon as well as a yellow card for Mark Passmore.
Gareth Rushton bagged a second-half brace and Deacon added another but they could not contain Ludlow, especially after another yellow card for Russell Scudamore.
Promotion-chasing Pershore entertain Rugeley on Saturday at Evesham’s Prince Henry’s High School (1.30pm).
The seconds slipped to a second successive defeat, falling 4-3 to Wednesbury with Ollie Betteridge and Ali Sanderson on target alongside a deflected effort.
Rob Smith scored in the first-half but Pershore thirds lost 2-1 at Market Drayton.
