Seven-up for on-fire Broadway

ONLY five Birdseye Sports Evesham Sunday Football League matches survived the wet weather.

Broadway United took a big step in qualifying from Barry Brotherton Cup Group ‘A’ with a 7-0 win over Evesham WMC.

Jason Horsburgh hit a hattrick with further goals from Craig (2), Magee and Mark Horsburgh.

Eckington recorded an 8-1 Group ‘B’ win at Defford/ Besford United with McElroy (6), Bostock and Gill on target and Kelley replying.

AC Olympia took the honours in Division Two, winning 4-2 at Cheltenham Saints. Hope and Gibbs scored for Saints but Elliott and Quemby doubles earned Olympia three points.

Offenham Rovers dropped points in their Division Three promotion bid, drawing 3-3 at Ecosamba.

Broadway United Reserves secured a 5-0 win at basement club Salford Priors.
