Harriers extend lead after triumph

ANCHOR Harriers won the top-of-the-table clash in Birdseye Sports Evesham Sunday League Division Four to open a nine-point lead.
The Cropthorne team made it 11 consecutive league wins by defeating second-placed Dragons 4-0 with goals from Townsend, Crenan, Heritage and Quantrell.
Vale Wanderers won 5-2 at Ambi Allsports thanks to Foxall (2), Williams (2) and O’Connor with Perry replying twice.
Pershore High Old Boys stayed top of Division Three with a 5-0 win at basement club Salford Priors through Jones, Ridings, Wyatt, Haines and Worthington.
Tewkesbury Town, with games in hand, remained fourth, defeating Fairfield 4-2 with goals from Petitt (2), Halling and Compton.
Bretforton Old Boys reached the Evesham Hospital Sunday Junior Cup last four following a 5-2 victory at Mickleton Rangers.
Eckington and Evesham WMC shared six goals before the former prevailed in a penalty shoot-out.
In the Minor Cup, favourites Bear overcame Badsey Recreation 3-1 and previous winners Bredon were upset 3-2 by Gardeners Arms.
Cider Mill recorded an excellent 4-3 win at in-form Offenham Rovers, while other teams to progress were Alderton, Stour Excelsior, Tesco United and AC Olympia.
