COTSWOLD runners impressed in the Gloucestershire Amateur Athletics Association Club Crosscountry Championships at Blackbridge, Gloucester.
Rachel See, who attends Cotswold School, Bourton-on- the-Water, won the girls’ under 17s division.
Fellow pupil Niamh Powell, 11, was second in the under 13s with class-mate Felicity Darwent fourth.
See and Powell go through to the McCain UK Athletics Union Cross-country Inter- Counties Championships on March 9 in Birmingham.
Cotswold School’s Rosanna Mutsaars, 12, and Darwent, 11, are first and second respectively in the Gloucestershire Cross-country League girls’ under 13s table.
For the seniors, Bourton Roadrunners members tackled the soggy, challenging conditions at Blackbridge.
Claire Harrison was the sole Bourton ladies’ representative in a small but competitive field of 23 runners.
In her second cross-country race, Harrison claimed an over 35s bronze medal.
Brendan Caragher charged around the course to lead Bourton men in 52nd place.
Daryl Kiey-Thomas was 56th, while Norm Lane clinched the veterans’ over 65s gold in 57th spot.
Richard Bufton and David Pyne were 59th and 60th as Bourton finished fourth veterans’ over 40s team.
