Selby gets fine late equaliser

PERSHORE Town continued their improved Athium Midland Football Combination Premier Division form.

Fourteenth-placed Town scored a deserved equaliser in a thrilling 3-3 draw at Pilkington XXX who are one place and three points below them.

Pershore took the lead after 10 minutes through Richard Congrave with a direct freekick from the edge of the box.

Pilkington equalised on 30 minutes when clever footwork saw their forward run on and beat the keeper.

But Pershore regained the lead as new signing Chris Bright netted with another free-kick from just outside the area. Pilkington levelled after half-time and took the lead for the first time in the 65th minute with a header from a set-piece.

However, battling Town equalised on 83 minutes when Bright’s free-kick was nodded in by centre-half Craig Selby for the draw.
