PERSHORE Swimming Club youngsters started a busy 2013 on the podium showing impressive improvements.
More than 20 members set over 70 personal bests at the Stourbridge Crystal Open in Wolverhampton.
They also recorded county qualifying times with 30 achieving the standard in an unprecedented 152 events.
Chris Vizard, 10, who has seven county times, won the 50- metre backstroke (39.46 seconds), was second in the 50m freestyle (33.24) and third in the 50m butterfly (42.12).
Lizzie Vizard, 14, was third in the 200m breaststroke in three minutes 09.49 seconds, having achieved five qualifying times.
Naomi Marsden, 10, finished second in the 50m backstroke (39.01) and third in the 100m individual medley (1.28.38) to make eight events in March’s Worcestershire championships.
Owen Leeks, with five county times, secured bronze in the 200m backstroke (2.44.97) as did Hannah Simister, 11, in the 50m breaststroke (45.23).
Holly Winkley, nine, recorded bests in the 50m butterfly, 50m freestyle and 50m backstroke.
Benjamin Clarke, 13, set seven pbs, while younger brother William did likewise in the 50m breaststroke, 50m butterfly and 100m individual medley.
Nine-year-old Charlotte Downey achieved a new county time of 40.96 in the 50m freestyle as well as shining in the 50m butterfly and the 50m backstroke.
Satara, nine, and Casarena Ferriera, 12, helped Pershore to 10th visiting club with pbs in the 50m sprints and, for the latter, in the 200m individual medley and 200m breaststroke.
Izzie Cumming recorded a 50m freestyle pb, while 10-year-olds Liberty Deaville, Melissa Radley, Rebecca Phillips and Kate Sanderson smashed their bests.
Brothers Luke, nine, and Jack Betteridge, 12, chased more county times with the latter managing pbs in the 200m breaststroke and freestyle.
Luke improved in the 50m backstroke, 50m butterfly, 50m freestyle and 100m individual medley with county times in three events. Josh Lane, Callum Sanderson and Drew Jones also recorded pbs.
