PLAYERS from across the county are preparing for a battle to be crowned Worcestershire champion.

Entries are being taken for the competition, won last year by Evesham’s Tom Johnson, which carries a prize fund of £600 with £300 for the winner.

Two qualifiers will be at Pockets Snooker Club, Kidderminster, on March 3 and March 24 from 11am.

Two players from each day contest the semis and finals on April 14 and first-round losers will be entered into a plate competition.

It costs £20 to enter or £10 for over 60s and under 18s.
