Tributes to stalwart Granger

WORCESTERSHIRE indoor cricket stalwart Tim Granger has died suddenly at the age of 78.

The Pershore resident administered the county’s indoor competitions at Royal Grammar School Worcester, Evesham and Kinver for more than 10 years.

He was responsible for organising matches at Evesham’s Prince Henry’s sports centre and a minute’s silence was held in his memory before recent fixtures.

Granger, who leaves wife Gill, also organised competitive evening cricket during the summer and was a past Worcestershire Cricket Umpires and Scorers Association chairman.

He was a training officer and a regular umpire in the local leagues.

His funeral will be at Evesham Methodist Church next Monday at 2pm.
