Carroll's hot form continues

CROPTHORNE trainer Tony Carroll’s hot streak made it 19 triumphs for 2013 with none of the five latest winners starting as favourites.

Promising three-year-old Shearian was the biggest outsider at 10-1 with his first career success at Kempton by just half-a-length.

Shalambar (6-1) was another Kempton victor by four lengths, while there were Newbury triumphs with Arctic Wings (13-2) and French import Le Bacardy (8-1), his first on English soil, by halfa- length and six lengths respectively.

Carroll also celebrated a convincing victory for Boston Blue (7-1) at Doncaster.

Mr Lando and Arte Del Calcio (both Wednesday’s Fred Winter Juvenile Handicap Hurdle) and Le Bacardy (Friday’s Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle) all have entries for next week’s Cheltenham Festival and Sandown on Saturday.
