Final home game ends in misery for Badsey ladies

BADSEY completed their Worcestershire League Division One home games this season with a 2-1 defeat to a physical Bromsgrove team.

The hosts started well with the midfield of Kay Amphlett, Laura Moore and Rachel Sadler controlling play. Badsey’s pressure was rewarded midway through the half when Karen Robinson fired the ball past the keeper at the second attempt.

But they then dropped their intensity and allowed Bromsgrove back with a defensive mix-up allowing an equaliser before the interval.

Badsey upped their game with promising passing and movement between Shelly Banner, Lynne Ellarby, Sarah Rickey and Robinson but they could not find the killer ball.

At the back, Fi Jordan, Nikki Wright and Nicky Beasley did well but Bromsgrove grabbed a late winner from another breakaway.

Badsey travel to Harborne thirds on Saturday.
