Champion Court has big chance
CHAMPION Court is among the front-runners for next Thursday’s Ryanair Chase at Cheltenham Festival.
The eight-year-old, trained by Martin Keighley in Luckley, varies between 8-1 and 10-1 but would need to rediscover his form from last year’s meeting.
He only lost out to Sir Des Champs in the Jewson Novices’ Chase at the Gloucestershire course 12 months ago.
Keighley set his sights on the Ryanair after failing to win in two trips to Kempton, including Boxing Day’s King George VI Chase.
“If he came back to last season’s Cheltenham form, he’d have a big chance,” said Keighley. “His main rivals have other options elsewhere so it might cut up a bit yet.”
Keighley also plans to send Johnny Og to the Weatherbys Champion Bumper next Wednesday and Any Currency for the Glenfarclas Handicap Chase (Cross Country) the day before.
