PROMOTED Dumbleton Cricket Club returned to training last night in preparation for Gloucestershire/ Wiltshire Division One.

Full-time coach Mark Scott guides the villagers again in the West of England Premier League after winning the Gloucester Division.

Dumbleton have signed talented leg-spinner Akash Patel, 18, who has played for Northern Territory under 17s in Australia.

First-team captain Adam Stuart said: “We’re looking strong and will probably be mid-table or better. We’ve improved the squad with new additions. We’re aiming to improve on our last effort in this league in 2011.”

Dumbleton’s nets began last night for four weeks at Evesham’s Worcestershire Cricket Centre from 9pm until 10pm before moving outdoors on April 11.

Potential new players can call club captain Andrew Powell on 07793-589373.
