BADSEY moved up to the second promotion place in Cotswold Hills League Division Three thanks to a 112- run home thrashing of rivals Leek Wootton.
After falling to 52-2, Sam Thomson (88 not out) and skipper Mike Powell (106no) gradually built an innings before scoring 102 runs from the final 90 balls.
Badsey amassed 238-2 from 45 overs before Leek reached 87-4 from 20 overs with Powell taking 3-41.
With the introduction of Thomson (4-18) and John Osborne (2-19), the visitors were whittled out for 126 in the 35th over.
- Broadway held their annual club day with a difference as two teams made up of superheroes did battle.
A juniors’ game started the entertainment before the likes of Captain America, the Incredible Hulk, Spiderman, Superman, He-Man, Batman and Bananaman took to the field.
After the 20-over scrap, the totals were 171 compared to 168 with the highlights being an unbeaten half-century for Matthew Phillips and a punishing 65 from Jason Horsburgh.
