JD Racing’s Ashley Beech secured his best finish of seventh in the National Superstock 1000 Championship ninth round at Cadwell Park.
The Evesham team’s rider was helped by the disqualification of Vale ace Simon Andrews, of RAF Reserves Racing, for what the officials deemed an ‘unfair manoeuvre’ on a fellow competitor, causing him to crash.
Beech impressed on the Kawasaki ZX-10R bike despite sliding off onto the grass in a previous test at the Lincolnshire circuit.
He beat his personal best lap time by over three seconds in qualifying and was just 0.8 off the pole position time.
The team are back in action on September 8 at Donington Park.
