COTSWOLD Running’s Naunton Nearly 19 gave runners a chance to blow away the post-holiday cobwebs.

On a frosty day, 123 competitors set out along Warden’s Way with Worcester’s Adam Jackson and Richard Walsh pushing the early pace.

Jackson opened a big gap and, with 10 kilometres left, upped the pace to finish in a course record of two hours five minutes 28 seconds.

Walsh crossed the line in 2.11.35 for second with Sebastian Verweij third around six minutes behind.

In the women’s race, Stratford’s Kate Wright built a lead over Evesham’s Sheila Barbour, finishing in 2.19.15.

Barbour reduced the gap for second in 2.32.31, ahead of Sally Howard in 2.45.48.
