Dragons firing after moving off bottom

First published in Sport

ONLY five Birdseye Sports Evesham Sunday Football League matches survived the continuing poor weather.

In Division Three, Dragons moved off the bottom and out of the relegation places with a 2-1 victory at fellow strugglers Broadway United Reserves.

The hosts led at the interval through Turner but second-half goals from Wilsdon and Wicks earned Dragons a much-needed win.

Sun Inn dropped valuable points in their Division Four promotion push, being held 3-3 at home by Vale Wanderers.

Parry (2) and Allen scored for Sun Inn, while the visitors replied through a hat-trick from Ainsworth.

Tewkesbury Town Reserves were knocked out of the Pershore Hospital Minor Cup by Worcester side Claines 4-3.

WMK missed out on the chance to go top of Division Two after being held 1-1 at AC Olympia.

The prolific Sklennar scored for WMK but a Kinch effort earned the Bishops Cleeve outfit a share of the spoils.

Offenham Rovers defeated Tesco United 3-1 with goals from Dean Cox (2) and Tomes. Williams replied.
