IT WAS the Robin Churchman show as Dumbleton narrowly got the better of local rivals Bredon in a tense encounter on Saturday.
Churchman's day started well when he ran out Patrick Colomb in the eighth over but, from then on, it just got better and better.
The all-rounder's next contribution was to pick up 5-68 from his 13 overs as Bredon - who were very well placed on 148-2 after 30 overs - were limited to 227-9 after 45..
Then, after Dumbleton had lost early wickets, Churchman steadied the reply against some fine bowling from Simon Riches.
However, despite good support from Giles Lancaster (43) the game looked to be going Bredon's way as Dumbleton still needed 50 runs off the last five overs when some fantastic hitting from Churchman ensured he reached a magnificent century.
He then hit two monstrous sixes in the penultimate over to see Dumbleton home with an over to spare.
