EVESHAM remain in the South Warwickshire Summer Tennis League relegation zone after a 2-2 draw with Claverdon.

They still trail Stratfordupon- Avon ‘B’, who also drew 2-2 with title-chasing Alcester, by one point following the tie with mid-table opposition.

Leaders Stratford ‘A’ saw their nearest rivals Shipstonon- Stour drop points in a 2-2 stalemate with fifth-placed Henley-in-Arden and now only Alcester can catch them.

Division One top team Littleton managed a valuable 3-1 victory at title rivals Chipping Campden to lead the table by four points with two matches to play.

Third-placed Bidford-on- Avon won 3-1 at home to bottom side Whitnash, who could only field one pair.

In Division Two, mid-table Ullenhall’s 4-0 beating of Littleton ‘B’ pushed them into promotion contention while confirming the latter’s relegation.

An exciting Division Three match-up between the two top sides Shipston ‘B’ and Studley ‘B’ saw honours shared in a 2-2 draw.

Studley were declared champions and Shipston still have a battle on their hands with Chipping Campden ‘B’ for second spot.

In Division Four, Inkberrow ‘B’ and Moreton-in- Marsh ‘A’ met for a possible title-decider and both earned promotion. Moreton took a 4-0 win at home and they have a game in hand with the teams equal top on 37 points.

HDA Redditch’s 2-2 draw with Chipping Campden ‘C’ meant they missed out on promotion.

In Division Five, Ardencote ‘B’ were crowned as champions after beating Moreton-in- Marsh ‘B’ 4-0, while Claverdon ‘C’ moved second with a 2-2 draw at Bidford ‘B’.
