Sevens is a success for town

EVESHAM finished runnersup at the Stratford-upon-Avon charity sevens competition.

After qualifying from their group, the Albert Road side, comprising Stefan Lasota, Carl Robinson, Alex Jackson, Fraser Goggin, Richard Roberts, Sam White, Matt Kinnersley, Zak Reid and Connor Greatix, were beaten 24-14 by the Cavalier in the cup final.

Evesham lost to the Cavalier 24-21 in their first match, including tries from Robinson and Greatix, before seeing off Sutton Coldfield 31-7 with Reid, Kinnersley and Robinson going over and the latter two kicking conversions.

Robinson, Goggin and Reid all touched down in the 24-12 semi-final victory over Droitwich but they came up short in the final. White and Jackson scored tries.

Alcester Exiles won the bowl and Stratford were the runners-up.
